Kirsten and Will’s wedding at Addison Woods was a modern bride’s dream, with so much natural light, clean white walls, and green and gold accent pieces. We absolutely love shooting at Addison Woods. In fact, it’s one of our favorite venues in the Houston area! So, we were thrilled to come back and celebrate with this sweet couple.
A First Look and a First Touch
One of the things we quickly realized about Kirsten and Will is that they love and value their family. And, not just their blood relatives, but their chosen family of close friends as well! Their loved ones were intimately involved in their day from start to finish. A friend did Kirsten’s hair and makeup, with an updo and a red lip that looked so lovely! In addition, Kirsten did a first look with her father and it was such an emotional moment. He even wore a tie with a note from Kirsten custom-embroidered on the back!
While Kirsten and Will opted not to do a first look, they did a first touch and letter exchange! We love this option for our couples who would rather not break the tradition of seeing one another at the altar. It preserves the surprise but allows the two of you to have an intimate moment before exchanging your vows. Plus, it’s a great time to get out all of those pre-wedding jitters! Kirsten and Will’s smiles as they read their private letters to one another said it all. We could tell that they were so ready to become husband and wife!
Green and White Wedding at Addison Woods
We loved the simple color palette of white and green with gold accents that carried throughout Kirsten and Will’s day. Kirsten wore a gorgeous gold necklace with an emerald pendant and her bridesmaids wore tea-length forest green gowns. Meanwhile, the bouquets they carried were filled with a simple, yet stunning mixture of creamy white roses and eucalyptus. As they walked down the aisle of the chapel at Addison Woods, the combination of deep green with the pure white walls and ceiling looked absolutely ethereal!
Kirsten and Will’s reception inside the barn-style hall featured more details within their chosen color palette. Boughs of eucalyptus acted as runners overtop the farm-style tables, with white-and-gold candles interspersed. Gold plates and white linen napkins completed the look! In addition, the couple put together a table where their guests could select a favor and highlight their favorite Bible verse in lieu of a guestbook. Each stationery sign was framed in gold, and a small arrangement of eucalyptus and white florals stood at each end of the table. All in all, it was evident that the day had been intentionally designed!
Documenting Kirsten and Will’s wedding day at Addison Woods was an honor. Each wedding we have the pleasure of attending as Houston wedding photographers is uniquely beautiful—just like every love story! If you and your special someone are newly or soon-to-be engaged, we would love to capture yours. Reach out to us and tell us your vision for your special day!
