Mackenzie and Nick’s wedding at Hotel Zaza had so many swoon-worthy details! The couple chose a color scheme that consisted of pastel pink and white, and it carried throughout the day. Pastel pink is our absolute favorite color to photograph, so needless to say we had a wonderful time!
Pink and Floral Details for a Wedding at Hotel Zaza
The couple’s stationery was lovely, featuring a watercolor design of pink roses on a creamy white background. Their initials were calligraphed in gold, and the effect was stunning! Mackenzie’s bridal bouquet was quite similar in appearance to the design on the stationery. In addition to blush roses, it featured cream roses, eucalyptus, and other greenery. It looked beautiful on camera and as she walked down the aisle.
Sweet Candid Moments
Mackenzie did a first look with her dad and with Nick, and both moments were so precious to witness and to photograph. We love capturing the big emotions of a wedding day, and think that they always make for more compelling images than posed photographs. With that being said, it isn’t necessary to set aside a huge chunk of time on your wedding day just for couple’s portraits! We were able to shoot Mackenzie and Nick’s portraits in just fifteen minutes and capture some truly sweet moments while we were at it. To the best of our ability, we work within whatever window of time a couple gives us!
A Garden Filled Indoor Wedding Ceremony
Even though it was a little rainy on their wedding day, the couple were just so happy to be together. The ceremony was moved inside, so their florist and planner, Laurel Event Design, brought the outdoors in! They created a one-of-a-kind floral installation on the chandelier, covering it in dripping ivy. Their aisle was covered in candlelight, with fresh white roses that tied into the ceremony arch.
A Showstopping Cake And Luxury Decor
However, the most showstopping detail of the day was the couple’s cake! We have rarely seen a cake with such a detailed design. Three-dimensional fondant roses, greenery, and gold leaf cascaded over six tiers of cake covered in rich vanilla frosting. The effect was opulent and feminine and fit in perfectly with the rest of the wedding day! Laurel Event Design carried in the garden design, and covered the chandelier over the dance floor with ivy, to tie into the ceremony. To complete the luxury details, they had embroidered table linens, each set with centerpieces filled with hydrangeas and roses.
We hope that you enjoyed these images from Mackenzie and Nick’s wedding at Hotel Zaza. And, if you’re on the hunt for a wedding photographer who will capture all the little moments of your day, we hope to hear from you! Say hello here and we’ll schedule a call to dream up the perfect wedding.
