We can’t get enough of the romance and happiness from this elopement in Houston. Eloping to the courthouse seemed like a fine idea to us, especially in the middle of a pandemic, and yet, Lisa and Paul made the day feel like it was a dream come true.

A minimal wedding with a gorgeous green palette
First things first, we couldn’t stop talking about just how pretty their wedding details were. Although it was an elopement, they didn’t let that stop them from curating details that eloquently whispered sophistication.

Courthouse elopement without cameras
As for the courthouse elopement, Lisa and Paul were so upbeat and excited. They just wanted to be together and the pandemic would not slow them down. They had such a positive outlook on their future. We could tell that their wedding, regardless of where and when, would be the start of a long-lasting marriage built on love and respect.
They eloped at the courthouse in Harris County. Cameras were unfortunately not allowed in the courthouse so we photographed every other event — getting ready, first look, courthouse exit, portraits and celebrations with family.

Lancaster Hotel celebrations with family
After eloping at the courthouse, they celebrated at the Lancaster Hotel with immediate family. The hotel is a statement piece in downtown Houston and put a nice touch on their day as a whole.

The eloping couple
The shoot was like photographing friends we had known for a lifetime. They were so happy to be wed and we were so happy to be there to capture that for them. It was as if we had already known one another. We learned so much about them and how their love has conquered difficult times. Their dog, Teddy, sure is lucky to have them (and they’re lucky to have each other too!).

A sweet elopement in Houston
We have to say, Lisa and Paul are lovely souls that immediately treated us like family. Their happiness and love for one another was evident. It was inspiring to see a couple so happy and in love despite what is going on in the world. Their family was just as happy for them! (And let’s be real, we pretty much count as family now too after such a tight-knit day.)
Thank you both for letting Richard and I be a part of this intimate elopement in Houston. We wish you nothing but love and happiness!
