Important Wedding Day Reminders

Your wedding day is an incredible culmination of months of planning, hours of gathering details, and endless cups of coffee! As your wedding photographers, we want to be committed to making sure all of these important details align and create the wedding of your dreams. We know the importance of your wedding. It’s a celebration of your love, surrounded by friends and family. These moments simply can’t be replicated! All of our couples get a reminder email the week of their wedding, with important details to keep in mind for the wedding day. These help us capture the perfect moments, and create beautiful imagery. Today, we are sharing those important wedding day reminders and sharing why they are so important!

The person/people who help you get dressed should be fully ready before helping you.

They will be in the photos of you putting the finishing touches on your look, and they’ll appreciate the fact that they’re wearing their wedding attire and not a robe! We always make sure that mom or grandma is ready earlier in the day, so she is ready to help you into your gown.

Keep your getting ready area clean.

This is a challenging request, but so worth it! Since we will be photographing you while you get ready to capture those gorgeous candid shots, we ask that you try to keep the location clean. Any clutter will be seen in photographs. We’ll also ask you to step into some natural light for a few shots so we can get breathtaking images that you will cherish!

Use handwritten notes to slow the best moments.

Write a handwritten note to your significant other before or on the wedding day. It is a great way to slow your day down and reflect on why you are there. It is a lovely moment to capture on camera! This will become a beautiful keepsake after your wedding too.

Wait for us to arrive before you give gifts!

If you have gifts for your bridal party or parents, keep them where you are getting dressed. We would love to capture their expressions while you give them their gifts! This can be another item your Maid Of Honor keeps hold of or brings to the getting ready location.

Set aside details for our arrival at the beginning of the day.

We love photographing our couple’s wedding detail! We ask that our couples set aside the following for us to photograph first thing on the wedding day: Dress, Veil, Shoes, Perfume, Rings (both of yours), Invitation suite, Bouquet, Vows, Other heirloom items.
And don’t forget to remove all tags on items. If possible, ask your florist to set aside a few blooms so we can use those in styling as well. We suggest having someone in the bridal party, like the Maid Of Honor, be the one to gather all of these. That way our couples don’t have to worry about a thing!

Select a designated meeting place for your family after the ceremony.

This is one of our wedding day reminders that most people don’t think about. Make sure your family knows a designated meeting place after your ceremony so we can start those formal photos as soon as possible. The sooner we take family photos, the sooner we can take your couple portraits! We can help you decide on a meeting place if you are having trouble! We’ll certainly be guiding the location for the portraits so we can get the best lighting.

Review our final portrait shot list.

Most weddings are an opportunity to take treasured photos with friends and family you don’t often get to see! As a result, we ask our couples to double check the shot list and let us know if there are any images they would like that are not listed. Some shots that are often forgotten are photos with the officiant, extended family portraits, and any close friend groups you are part of, like college friends or work friends.

Let us know if there are any timeline changes.

We use timelines to keep your day on track and prevent missing out on time for irreplaceable photos. Each element and detail are so important, and we are honored to be part of every single one. We ask our clients to send us the final wedding day timeline, so we can go through it thoroughly before the wedding day.
