This Lake Conroe engagement session was so fun to photograph! Emily and Will make a great couple, and we can’t wait to document their wedding at Balmorhea in March. For their session, we explored all over the shore at their family lakehouse. At one point, they even ventured into the water! We loved their adventurous spirit, and we’re so excited to share these images.

If you’re familiar with us, you know we love when our couples bring their fur babies along for the ride. So, when Emily and Will asked to include their dogs in a few portraits at the beginning of their session, we said YES! They amazed us with how they sat and posed in their matching white bandanas. Then, we spent some time exploring with just Emily and Will on the grounds of the lake house. The sun was beginning to set behind the trees, and the golden light filtering through the leaves was breathtaking!

Next, we headed down to the dock and the lakeshore. Emily and Will did a champagne pop on the water’s edge, which was our favorite part of the entire session! As they waded through the water, the setting sun reflected soft tones of gold and pink onto the surface. We couldn’t believe how beautiful and peaceful it was.

Engagement Session Outfit Inspiration

In addition to exploring different locations, Emily and Will chose to wear two outfits each: one for date night and one casual. Emily began the session in a gorgeous blue-and-white sundress with smocking, ruffles, and a sweet floral pattern. With her long blonde hair in soft curls, she looked lovely! Meanwhile, Will wore a light blue button-down shirt with a pair of simple khaki slacks. 

Then, both changed into white button-down shirts and jeans for a casual feel. They looked so classic, and the matching look was perfect for their portraits by the water. We always recommend choosing a simple and minimal outfit for your engagement session. Your images will look timeless, and your authentic emotions will shine through without distracting colors or patterns!
