We loved shooting Raven and Courtland’s engagement photos! These two are so sweet together, and we can’t wait to document their upcoming wedding. They opted for an outdoor engagement session at a beautiful park called Oyster Creek Park outside Houston, where the sunlight coming through the trees couldn’t have been more perfect. Houston Park Engagement Session

Raven and Courtland’s session took place in the heart of autumn when some of the leaves had already begun to change! We loved how the sunlight falling through the trees brought out their golden color. But the brightest light of all was the love between these two! One look at their smiles as they talked and joked around together, and we could tell they were meant to be.

We shot primarily in the park’s open fields, with the trees as a backdrop for the best lighting. However, we also found a stunning wrought iron bridge, perfect for a few casual portraits! We loved the perspective it gave the images, with Raven and Courtland at the center. Architectural features like this are perfect for adding variety to an outdoor engagement session.

Outfit Inspiration for an Outdoor Engagement Session

Raven and Courtland opted for an outfit change toward the end of their session, which is also a great way to add variety to your images! They arrived dressed to the nines in looks that would be perfect for a formal date night. Raven looked gorgeous in a long white sundress paired with her natural curls and a red lip. Meanwhile, Courtland wore a navy blue suit with a subtle checker pattern and an ivory dress shirt. The combination of blue and white looked so classic!

Then, the couple changed into more casual date night apparel. Raven wore a flirty black romper with a cold-shoulder sleeve paired with black tights and heeled ankle boots. Courtland complemented her in a white button-up shirt and the most incredible pair of orange pants. They looked amazing together!
