Cara and Dayton are a lovely couple that we’ve worked with in the past, so we were so excited when they asked us to shoot an elopement session for them! The two were married prior to the session but wanted some more portraits in their wedding day attire. We were more than happy to oblige, especially because these two are so photogenic! The newlywed bliss was clear in their faces as they posed, and we couldn’t be happier with how this gallery turned out.
Elopement Session in a Field of Light
The couple wanted to be surrounded by light for their session, with portraits that evoked the feeling of being in touch with the earth. We found a gorgeous field in North Houston perfect for the occasion and set out at golden hour for the most light-filled images possible. The tall grass caught the sunlight and appeared to glow all around the couple as they embraced and walked together through the field. It was a truly magical scene!
The love that Cara and Dayton share made it even more so. These two are like the sun and moon, with Cara being a city girl while Dayton loves the country. Together, they demonstrate how two very different people can be brought together by love, which is so beautiful to witness!
Nature-Inspired Bridal Style
The session’s emphasis on nature also carried into the couple’s choices of attire. Cara wore a sleeveless gown from BHLDN with all-over floral motifs crafted from the most gorgeous laser-cut lace. In addition, she accessorized her romantic updo with a few rose gold pins in the shape of leaves. Her bouquet from Analicia’s Flower Shop completed the look, with a mixture of cream roses, white hydrangeas, peach ranunculus, and anemones. The combination was classic and the palette of earthy sunset tones fit the setting so perfectly.
Meanwhile, Dayton opted for a more casual look, with a pair of light gray pants paired with suspenders and a white dress shirt. Analicia’s Flower Shop also provided his boutonniere, which featured a large cream rose paired with a few pieces of greenery.
We’re so glad that we had the opportunity to shoot with Cara and Dayton again for their elopement session. It’s always a treat to work with a couple more than once, and we wish these two the best as they head into the next exciting chapter of their lives.
