Lighthearted Engagement Session at Faust Street Bridge

We shot Rebecca and Tanner’s engagement session at the historic Faust Street Bridge in New Braunfels. Built in 1887, it is the only surviving bridge of its kind in Texas! Becca and Tanner were so much fun to photograph and open to every idea we had—they even agreed to pose in the water of the Guadalupe River while wearing their nice clothes! Between the charming architecture, the natural scenery, and the love these two share, this Faust Street Bridge engagement session was one for the books.

Golden Hour Session at Faust Street Bridge

Rebecca and Tanner’s love story began in college when they met online. At the time, both were working and studying full-time and used every bit of free time they had to run errands or do chores. So, their first date was a trip to the local self-serve dog wash to give Rebecca’s dog a bath! They bonded over a love of the outdoors, and the rest is history.

Our session began on top of the bridge, which serves pedestrians and bicyclists in the community of New Braunfels. The sun filtered through the sides of the bridge and the leaves of nearby trees to cast rosy light on the couple. We had so much fun playing with the shadows it created, which added an extra layer of drama to the images! The couple wore casual outfits for this portion of the shoot in a timeless palette of blue and white. Rebecca opted for a white puff-sleeve blouse paired with ripped jeans and Converse, while Tanner wore a navy blue t-shirt and jeans.

Riverside Engagement Portraits

For the second half of the shoot, we explored the banks of the Guadalupe River. Eventually, Rebecca and Tanner waded in and even walked underneath the bridge! We love how these images turned out and how the bridge is visible from a new perspective.

For their attire, the couple stuck with a palette of blue and white but changed into “date night” looks. Rebecca looked gorgeous in a blue eyelet mini dress with a bow at the back. Meanwhile, Tanner was classically handsome in a light blue dress shirt and a pair of dark-wash jeans.
