Rice University’s campus in the heart of Houston made a gorgeous location for Sam and Dharm’s couple’s session. We know Sam through the wedding industry—she’s our favorite makeup artist with Polished Makeup and Hair—so we were thrilled when she inquired about a couple’s session for her and her husband, Dharm! They recently tied the knot in Mexico but wanted to take more photos in their traditional American bridal attire. They looked so regal in their outfits, posing in front of the campus’ majestic architecture.
Multicultural Wedding in Mexico
Sam and Dharm met at Dharm’s cosmetics store nine years ago and immediately bonded over their love of makeup. They were casual friends for three years until Sam expressed her interest in Dharm at a company party. After the couple’s first date, she knew he was “the one.” The rest was history!
The happy couple hosted their tropical dream wedding at Secrets Bahia Mita in Punta Mita, Mexico. Their two-party ceremony honored and united both of their religious heritages! The day began with a Hindu ceremony. The bride and groom wore traditional Indian attire and accessorized it with gold jewelry and henna. Then, they changed into a white ballgown and black tux for a Christian ceremony.
The day was just as they envisioned from start to finish, but there was no time for portraits before the sun went down. So, the couple decided to have more portraits taken in their hometown of Houston, on the Rice University campus!
Rice University Couple’s Session
Sam chose Rice University for her couple’s session with Dharm because she felt the location perfectly matched their outfits. We couldn’t agree more! The campus has a traditional, grandiose feel with tall brick buildings and Mediterranean-style architecture. It set the stage for beautiful portraits while Sam and Dharm’s attire did the rest—all we had to do was pull out our cameras!
Sam wore a stunning satin ballgown with a sparkling bodice, plunging sweetheart neckline, and off-the-shoulder sleeves. She did her own makeup and looked so elegant with a subtle smoky eye and bold red lip! Meanwhile, Dharm dressed in a classic black tux that complemented his bride’s look perfectly. The two of them made the most romantic pair as they strolled among the palatial buildings of Rice University.
We’re so glad we could help Sam and Dharm recapture some of the magic of their wedding day with these photos! If you and your spouse also had a destination wedding, or if you simply want more photos in your gown and tux, we would love to do the same for you. Inquire today to share your vision with us!
