Christina and Kenneth’s summer wedding at Willowynn Barn perfectly fulfilled their vision! The bride wanted the day to have a timeless essence with simple, classic details. There couldn’t have been a better venue for the occasion than Willowynn Barn, with its clean black-and-white color palette and quaint country setting.
Christina has been a friend since we met her at Emily and Will’s wedding and shot her bridal session. Her engagement to Kenneth was full of sweet anticipation, both for the couple and their families. Sadly, they lost a loved one, Kenneth’s father, just a few weeks before the wedding. Although this cast a bittersweet tone over the day, everyone still managed to celebrate. The couple’s pastor remembered Kenneth’s father during their ceremony, and their reception featured a table of framed photos honoring lost loved ones.
Blush and Ivory Summer Wedding
Christina and Kenneth selected a blush and ivory palette for the day, enhanced by greenery accents. Their reception featured touches of light pink flowers and eucalyptus on the tablescapes, which complemented the bouquets held by Christina and her bridesmaids. The bridesmaids wore blush floor-length gowns with mismatched necklines and accessorized with hot pink heels for a fun pop of color. Meanwhile, the groomsmen wore classic black suits with light pink bow ties—at Christina’s request!
Our former clients, Emily and Will, were part of the bridal party, and it was so fun to see them again! We had a blast capturing each bridal party separately on the gorgeous grounds at Willowynn Barn. Then, following Christina and Kenneth’s ceremony, we photographed them together inside the stunning, light-filled outdoor chapel. The soft and timeless color palette they wore worked so well inside the all-white space.
Wedding at Willowynn Barn
Christina and Kenneth’s reception at Willowynn Barn was the party of the century! Willie the Shot Donkey made the rounds during cocktail hour, so everyone was ready to hit the dance floor as soon as the barn doors opened. The bride and groom made their grand entrance in pairs of matching Jordans, and their fun-loving spirit set the tone for the night!
Tipsy Cowgirls ensured everyone had a drink in their hand all night. Meanwhile, Danny B DJ Company played everyone’s favorite party hits, including Latin music, in honor of Christina’s mother’s heritage. An unexpected rainstorm meant the couple had to do their glowstick exit indoors, but far from being a disappointment, this made their sendoff even more fun! After saying goodbye to their loved ones, they dashed to their getaway car with umbrellas, ready to begin their life together.
What an honor it was to capture Christina and Kenneth’s wedding day! We can’t wait to see what the future has in store. If you’re planning to tie the knot in Houston, we want to tell your love story!
