After shooting Emily and Will’s Lake Conroe engagement session, we couldn’t wait to capture their wedding at Balmorhea in Magnolia, Texas! These two have so much love for each other and enjoy adventuring with their sweet fur babies. We know their wedding day would exude the joy they always do when they’re together, and it was better than we could have imagined! It was a beautiful spring day, and everything came together perfectly under the direction of Lace with Grace Events. We’re thrilled to be sharing a glimpse at the highlights!
Getting Ready for a Wedding at Balmorhea
The morning of Emily and Will’s wedding at Balmorhea was full of meaningful moments that were so fun to document. After getting ready inside the stunning Bridal Cottage, Emily surprised her bridesmaids with a first look. The bridesmaids’ reactions can make or break this moment, and Emily’s girls delivered! Everyone looked overjoyed to see Emily as a beautiful bride. Then, Emily did a first look with her dad, which was the sweetest moment. He instantly teared up after seeing his little girl in her long white dress, and we may have been a bit misty-eyed ourselves!
Emily and Will decided not to break tradition by forgoing a first look and waiting until their ceremony inside the Balmorhea Chapel to see each other. We’re so glad they made that choice—Will’s expression while watching his bride walk down the aisle was worth a million words! However, the couple still wanted to enjoy a moment in private before taking such a big step. So, they decided to compromise with a “first touch!” They stood back to back, held each other’s hands, and whispered sweet words before going their separate ways until it was time for their ceremony.
Vintage Car Wedding Photos
After Emily and Will exchanged their vows, we whisked them away for portraits on the grounds. One thing’s for sure: a wedding at Balmorhea will be stunning no matter the season! From the gorgeous architecture to the meadows of mature oak trees, there’s no shortage of locations for taking beautiful portraits. We began our session outside the Chapel where they had become husband and wife minutes before. Then, we headed to the driveway outside the Ballroom, their reception location, to snap more portraits with a fun prop!
It’s no secret that we love including vintage cars in our photography sessions. So, we couldn’t wait when Emily and Will told us they were renting a vintage ivory Cadillac to be their “getaway car!” They even had the front license plate personalized with their last name, while the back plate read, “Just Married.” We spent the rest of the session finding creative ways to incorporate the car into their portraits, and we’re so proud of how the images turned out!
Capturing Emily and Will’s wedding at Balmorhea was a fun and rewarding experience. We’re so glad we could get to know them through their engagement session and wedding day!
